What is the hardest thing about eating a real food diet?  For me it is making sure that there is always enough food prepared and ready to go when the family gets hungry.  That is why I rely heavily on my crock pot throughout the week.  Making a big crock pot meal a couple times a week feeds my family of 4 for several meals.  Need some crock pot inspiration?  Check out today’s Top 18 Paleo Crock Pot Recipes.

I love my crock pot. It makes eating a REAL food diet so much easier for me and my family.  Not only does it make preparing wholesome meals easy and convenient, it also allows me to cook in bulk.  Who has time to make a new, home-cooked meal every day.  My family eats several meals from one large crock pot meal.

Eating fresh, local, organic foods mean that you actually have to cook.  Since I started Savory Lotus, it has amazed me how many folks have admitted to me that they don’t really cook.  A crock pot, or slow cooker, is the perfect answer for those who don’t want to spend a tone of time in the kitchen.

I have had couple different crock pots over the years.  My favorite one is THIS one.  It’s big.  It’s easy to use.  And it never fails me.  I literally spend minutes in  the morning prepping my food, throw it in the crock pot, close the lid, and walk away.  It always makes me smile when I am greeted with delicious smells from the kitchen later in the day.

    Recently made the spicy sausage and sweet potato soup in the slow cooker. Didn’t know what to expect but it was very good!!
