There is nothing like a creamy, garlicky homemade salad dressing. This healthy dairy free ranch dressing is made from all real food ingredients and is super easy to make.
So I have a thing for homemade mayo. I make it almost every week and love to eat it on everything. Since I tend to eat a really simple diet, I rely heavily on tasty condiments to keep things interesting. One of my favorite things to do with homemade mayonnaise is to make dairy free ranch dressing.
My ranch dressing is all about the fresh herbs. I love the flavors of fresh parsley, dill, and chives. I’ve even started a small herb garden in my kitchen window to have fresh herbs whenever I want them.
The base for my ranch dressing is the homemade mayonnaise. If you don’t have a recipe, you can find one HERE. I simply add a bit of full fat coconut milk (homemade coconut milk or any nut milk will work as well), apple cider vinegar, garlic, and fresh herbs. So easy. It’s ready to eat in just minutes. I have found, however, that it does taste extra good if you let it sit for a few hours in the fridge.
Oh, and if you don’t have fresh herbs on hand, dried herbs will work just fine for this recipe. See notes in recipe.
Drizzle it on your favorite salads. Use it as a dip for sweet potato fries. Pour it over your favorite burger. Or smother your breakfast eggs and greens with it. Any way that you eat, it will be delicious. I promise!
Enjoy!
xo,
Katja

This looks so good! I really need to get better at making my own mayo. I had a couple of disasters which made me decide to give up the ghost but the paleo mayo I’ve taken to buying is also dang expensive. This dressing looks delicious 🙂

Once I started making my mayo in the food processor instead of the blender, I’ve only had perfect batches! I had plenty of batches in the blender not work.
Looking forward to making this later!

How long does this keep for? Looks yummy
Katja Heino says
It will keep for 5-7 days in the fridge. 🙂
Sony says
Probably shouldn’t mark this recipe as dairy free if your mayo includes eggs.
Katja Heino says
Hi, Sony. Eggs are not considered dairy. It’s confusing sometimes, but eggs are not a dairy product. The definition of dairy includes foods produced from the milk of mammals, such as cows and goat. 🙂

Could you use soy or almond milk in place of the coconut milk?
Katja Heino says
I haven’t tried it with soy or almond milk. You would have to experiment. Let me know if you try it. 🙂
